No exaggeration, Sunday\'s game at Baltimore was quite easily the game of the year and had one of the best comebacks in NFL history. The ravens started out dominant, scoring 17 off of 2 INT\'s and a fumble, blanking out the Bengals at half-time. (the lowest half-time score by the Bengals was previously 10, also the first time they have not lead for more than 1 quarter)
After half-time the Bengals mounted a semi-comeback, getting Rudi the ball with him ending up with 109 yards on the day. (only 3.8 average, lowest this year) With John Kitna sparking a light and igniting the offense the Bengals came within 14 and in the 4th quarter came within 7, only losing 17-10 but this is where the amazing comeback comes into play.
With less than 3 minutes to plat the Bengals got the ball after a Ravens score, losing 24-10 but the newly inserted Carson Palmer lead the Bengals down the field and got within 7, 24-17. On the onside kick with 49 seconds left, the miraculous happened, they recovered it. What was even more amazing was the drive that followed it, including a 31 yard catch by Kelly Washington inside the Baltimore 10. Cincinnati proceeded to tie the game and sent it into overtime.
Unfortunately for the Bengals there luck ran out later on. Despite a few excellent 3rd down conversions, Carson Palmer made his first mistake since the 2nd quarter of the game, throwing an INT to McAllister where no one was able to catch him.
After the game a dissapointed Carson Palmer said \"This was really a tough loss for all of us. Coming back 2 touchdowns with only a few minutes left and somehow tying it up, I feel just horrible throwing the INT in OT, we were yards away from winning the game. All you can do is put it behind you and look at next week\'s game, the Bye week will really come in handy this year\"
Marvin Lewis sounded equally dissapointed, but at the whole team \"Carson, Rudi and John along with the offense really did a superb job in the 4th quarter. It was definately dissapointing to lose it in OT but then if you are going to look at that, you also have to look at at all the opportunities we had to comeback in the 2nd or 3rd quarter and blew it. But now that the game is over, we have to put it behind us\"
Next week is the Bye week, after that is a game against the mighty Colts.
