The Bengals were faced once again with the same exact problem, preventing a comeback by the opposing team. This time the Bengals were up 17-0 early to only end up tying the game 24-24 later on and just barely won the game 31-27 after 4 long quarters of play.
Carson Palmer had another solid game, 12-21 for 118 YDS and 2 TD, most of it in the 1st half and went 1-5 in the 4th quarter. Rudi Johnson however lead the offense on his back with 171 yards rushing on 28 carries including 2 TD\'s and unfortunately 2 fumbles, both recovered back.
Defense was a much different story however, giving up 252 yards passing and getting just one INT from Leftwich and there most crucial task failed, allowing Fred Taylor to pickup 123 carries on just 22 carries along with a TD and fumble. (recovered by bengals)
After the game Palmer said \"We really built up a good lead in the 1st half. In the second half the Jaguars were maybe even more ready than us, because they just came out with blitzes and Brian [leftwich] just did amazing, he\'s a very talented passer.\"
When asked what he wants to work on for next week against the Titans \"Well there frontline is pretty brutal with starks and haynesworth so rudi may have a little trouble at first, but for me personally it will be interesting to see if they blitz with there linebackers or not.\"
