The game started out with a long, 11 play-5:49 drive by cincy which lead them to take the 7-0 lead early on. After yet another short Colts drive, the Bengals got the football back and marched 63 yards downfield, largely in part thanks to 51 yards from Rudi Johnson to make it 14-0 early in the 2nd quarter.
But the Colts weren\'t quiet long, Manning and Reggie Wayne connected 73 yards to cut the lead to 14-7 Bengals. The bengals came back and marched up field but a carson palmer fumble stopped the drive short. The colts could not get anything started however but the Bengals, thanks to a perfect punt, started on there own 1.
With less than 3 minutes to go the Colts went up field quickly and tied the game up 14-14 with just 1:17 to go before half-time. The colts got the ball back and thanks to passing and a facemask penalty they were quickly in field goal position. However the Bengals defense didn\'t let the colts go too far and they were unable to make a 53 yard field goal. 14-14 at halftime.
Brown and the backup Colts team quickly went across the field, Brown started the game 5-5 passing. However defensive pressure forced the Colts to attempt a 53 yard field goal which they missed again. (not as close) The Bengals got it back and Kitna threw up and made a 34 yard pass to Washington on 3rd and 20, getting the Bengals into Colts territory. Kitna then threw a perfect pass to Chad Johnson to take the lead over the Colts, 21-14.
Thanks to a poor Kitna Interception the Colts once again had good field position to try and tie up the game. However the outstanding pressure once again got to Brown for the 5th sack of the game and forced a punt. Thanks to several straight 10+ runs by Perry the Bengals were again in Field Goal position. A few plays later the Bengals has 4th and 1 but rather than a FG Palmer punched it in from the 2 yard line to extend the lead 28-14.
The colts were forced to punt for the 7th time of the day and Perry quickly got the Bengals inside the Colts 25 yard line. Running the clock pass 3:30 left in the game Graham made a 32 yard field goal to go up over the Colts 31-14 with 3:22 left in the game.
The colts were unable to get any solid drive going, allowing the Bengals to win the game 31-14. The running attack of the Bengals ended with over 200 yards in total, 106 by Rudi, 80 by perry, 9 from Palmer and 8 from Jeremy Johnson. The bengals ended the pre-season 3-1.
