Devils welcome back Lyle Odelein - 14/10/2006
After a wonderful season beginning totalizing 2-1-0, the Devils have announced a change in their line-up. Bryce Salvador will be assigned to Lowell to make place for the new Defenseman.

Free agent Lyle Odelein was signed today by New Jersey Devils GM, Lou Lamoriello. It is Mr. EGRAFSD, Lamoriello's assistant, who proposed to sign the 38 year old defenseman to a 1 year/$0,6M deal.

Odelein who played 16 seasons in the NHL first joined the Devils in the summer of 1996 when he was traded by Montreal for Richer. He appeared in 285 games before being traded to the Phoenix Coyotes at the 1999-2000 trade deadline.

The famous enforcer who's 2316 penalty minutes in 1056 NHL games rank him #28 in penalty minutes, hoisted the cup once in 1993 with the Montreal Canadiens.

Odelein has been named Alterned Captain and will replace Johnny Oduya since he has more leadership and experience (he has been the first captain of the Columbus Blue Jackets).

Stay tuned for more Devils news.
