The 49ers held off a frisky Rams team to hang on to a 37-31 victory in St. Louis.
QB Alex Smith threw for 277 yards and 2 TDs, spreading the ball around where 6 players had at least 3 receptions each. RB Frank Gore spearheaded the run game, piling up 102 yards and 2 TDs. Gore\'s 2nd TD run gave the 49ers breathing room in the 4th quarter.
The 49er defense struggled against the Rams pass game, allowing QB Matt Cassel to throw for over 300 yards and 4 TDs. DE Derrick Harvey had the best day for the defense, nabbing 3 sacks as he closes in on his own NFL record for sacks in a season.
The 49ers improve to 13-2 and thanks to another Eagles loss, they are looking at homefield advantage if they can beat the 10-5 Chargers next week.
