The 49ers were solid on both sides of the ball en route to a 26-10 victory over Tampa Bay in San Francisco.
RB Frank Gore was the workhorse for the 49er offense, piling up 217 yards from scrimmage. He ran for 145 yards on 36 carries and also totaled 72 yards receiving. He also gave the 49ers some breathing room in the 2nd quarter with a 4-yard TD run.
QB Alex Smith was efficient throwing the ball, completing 15 of 21 passing for 265 yards but did not throw a TD. TE Vernon Davis was the leading receiver with 106 yards.
K Art Carmody had arguably his best game of the season so far, making all 4 of his field goal attempts. 2 of the 4 kicks were from beyond 50 yards.
On defense, the 49ers picked off Rex Grossman 4 times and held Tampa Bay to only 3 points until late in the 4th quarter. Tampa Bay only accumulated 270 total yards of offense. FS Dashon Goldson had probably the best day, pulling in 3 tackles and 2 interceptions.
The 49ers are now 10-2 and have a 3-game lead in the NFC West with 4 games to play. They face the rival 5-7 St. Louis Rams next week.
