QB Alex Smith threw 4 TD passes in the 1st half as the 49ers rolled to a 31-10 halftime lead en route to a 48-24 win over the Cardinals in Arizona.
Smith torched the Cardinal secondary for 270 yards on only 13 of 18 passing and did not throw an interception for the first time in 4 games.
WR Darrell Jackson was Smith\'s biggest target, totaling 101 yards receiving and 2 first-quarter TD catches. TE Vernon Davis added 85 yards receiving and a TD, while FB Jacob Hester caught the other TD.
RBs Frank Gore (91 yards rushing) and Jamaal Charles (23 yards rushing) each had a TD run in the 3rd quarter to put the game away.
Defensively, the 49ers forced 4 turnovers, including 2 fumble recoveries by CB Aqib Talib in the 1st quarter. The Cardinals actually outgained the 49ers in total yards of offense and first downs, but the turnovers doomed any chance.\\
For his efforts this week, Smith was named NFL Offensive Player of the Week.
The 49ers improve to 9-2 and travel back home to welcome the 4-7 Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
