Detroit, MI (Cleveland News)-
The Indians looked to sweep the struggling Tigers, but the Tigers had
other
plans. After a Jhonny Peralta two run homerun, the Tigers would score
three runs to take the lead. Just one half
inning from the Tigers taking the lead they gave it up on a Ronnie
Belliard solo homerun to tie the game at three.
The game would go to extra innings. This was the first time the Indians
went to extra frames this season.
The Indians had chances to win in the extra freames as they piled up
seven hits in the six innings, three of which
came in the 13th inning. In the 13th the bases were loaded, but Casey
Blake pop the ball up in the infield, and
a double play to get the Tigers out of that jam. The Tigers would have
a shot in the 15th, and they took that shot.
Ronnie Belliard misplayed the ball to let one run score to lose the
game for the Indians. The Indians now will travel to
Balitmore to play
another struggling team, the Balitmore Orioles..
