The Big East announced today that they are searching for a new member to join their conference and remove one of the teams that have been performing badly or mediocre as of recent times. So they dug deep for talent, what they found was the Elmhurst College Blue Jays which have announced that they will try to earn a spot in the prestigious conference. They will be leaving the Division 3 level and making the jump to Division 1 and with that leap brings in a new coach. \"Were changing around here and we feel we need new coaches.\" So who will the new coach be? It is currently unknown who the new coach will be but the old one will coach for the play in games.
The rules are simple for the play in game(s)
If you win the team you take that teams spot in the conference
a. You adopt their conference schedule
b. You can change their non-conference schedule
If you lose you either
c. Play a different team
d. Lost at least 5 times and will be removed from contention from this spot.
The teams that you will face go in this order
i. DePaul
ii. St. Johns
iii. Rutgers
iv. West Virginia
v. Syracuse
1. The team that lost to you will adopt your old schedule.
2. They will play in your conference.
So first game in the Big East will be DePaul against Elmhurst College, who will win? Will it be the only game played in this exciting event? Will there be 4 more games? Only time will tell if the Blue Jays ranked 14th national in NCAA DIV III Men’s basketball can overcome any 5 of these 5 Big East Teams. Most likely though is that DePaul or St. Johns will lose . The Jays have little chance against Rutgers and West Virginia and Syracuse would be dumb to throw out because they can always run the charts in March.
