The New Jersey Devils, for the first time this season, have taken the Atlantic division lead. They moved into first place after defeating the Detroit Red Wings 5-2 at home.
"Its obviously a huge confidence booster" said Devils GM Benjamin Naim. "I'm happy we were able to finally catch up to the Islanders" added Naim, "we're only 2 points ahead of them though, we can't get cocky".
New Jersey looks to stretch their lead Thursday night against the Wild. Martin Brodeur will start, the Devils will be without D Mike Commodore, and forwards Niklas Bergfors and Patrick Elias due to injury |
